New York Knicks‘ high-flying reserve center Jericho Sims has a big fan in Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.

Morant pushed for Sims’ inclusion in the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk contest after news broke out that Houston’s Kenyon Martin, Jr. has committed to joining the competition.

So far, Martin, Jr. and Portland rookie Shaedon Sharpe are confirmed to participate in the annual classic.

Sims has been one of the most impressive dunkers ever since he recorded a 44.5-inch max vertical jump at the NBA Draft Combine. He first turned heads after his head went above the rim in his viral dunk video during Klutch Sports Pro Day.

The second-year Knicks center has made 37 dunks, 21 coming off alley oops, this season.

Last season, Knicks backup power forward Obi Toppin won the Slam Dunk contest, joining three-time champion Nate Robinson and 1989 winner Kenny Walker as the only Knicks players who won the competition.

Will Sims join them?
