New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh met with the media for his scheduled press conference at 10:30 this morning.
Much anticipation surrounded the presser, knowing that basically, every question would be about Elijah Moore.
The second-year wide receiver left the facility yesterday after a reported outburst that got ugly with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur regarding Moore’s usage. In hopes of emotions boiling down, the Jets sent Moore home for the day. In turn, he ended up submitting a trade request.
Saleh handled today’s press conference exceptionally well. Bombarded with Moore questions from the jump, Saleh made a few things known.
Trading Moore is not an option. The deadline is next week, Moore will, in all likelihood, not be moved, and he will either make the most of his opportunity with the Jets or else.
Also, Moore will not play this week in Denver against the Broncos. He did return to the facility today but will not practice with his teammates or be in meetings. Saleh said he will essentially work out the next three days. The plan is that Moore will rejoin the team on Monday with a clear mind.
Lastly, Saleh shared that he is by no means concerned about the state of the locker room following this blow-up. The team has been showing not but progress so far this year, especially over the last three weeks. All attention for the Jets now turns to find a way to beat the Broncos and getting to 5-2.
