Jamison Crowder had been with the Washington Redskins for 4 years before joining the New York Jets this past offseason. Crowder was a flat out stud early on but injuries brought about questions heading into free agency. Crowder is already starting to prove doubters wrong.

Crowder was a 4th round pick in the 2015 draft. Crowder burst onto the scene with 59 receptions, 604 yards, and two touchdowns. Crowder turned heads and only continued to further that in year 2. He finished that season with 67 receptions, 847 yards, and seven touchdowns. After this season, injuries became something that was more apparent for Crowder. Crowder finished the 2017 season with 66 receptions for 789 yards and 3 scores.

Then injuries became a real issue last season as Crowder missed nearly half the season. He still managed 29 catches for 388 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets saw potential beyond the injuries and lack of starts and handed him a 3 year 28.5 million dollar contract.

The Jets face a whole lot of questions going into this season about how they’ll operate without a clear number one receiver. Instead, Crowder is a part of their three-headed monster. Crowder has proven this with a really really good training camp performance and then a superb performance in just one drive on Thursday night. Crowder scored a TD and was there for Darnold as a significant outlet. Crowder is a guy that as long he stays healthy, could light up opposing teams and widen eyes. He’s likely going to be in a slot role which will significantly help his production as well. Crowder is one of the handfuls of New York Jets that I definitely see a lot of success coming from this season barring injuries. Crowder is ready to prove he deserved the deal but is New York ready for what this man is about to bring?
