The New York Jets got some good news on the injury front as veterans reported to training camp today.
It was just announced by the team that offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, defensive end Carl Lawson, and tight end CJ Uzomah have all been placed on the team’s active roster. This is ideal timing with training camp practices set to start.
The other notable injured player on the Physically Unable to Perform list is offensive tackle George Fant. There was no update on his status with the Becton, Lawson, and Uzomah news. Hopefully, Fant joins these players and gets back soon as the Jets need him.
The last of the injury updates was that running back Tevin Coleman was designated to the Active Non-Football Injury list.
Finally, the Jets also announced that they signed back offensive linemen Isaiah Williams and added quarterback Chris Streveler. In correspondence with those moves, wide receiver D.J. Montgomery, cornerback Craig James, and offensive linemen Dru Samia were all let go.
Ultimately, to get Becton, Lawson, and Uzomah all back as soon as possible is perfect for the Jets with practices starting. Now, just getting Fant on the active roster is all the team needs from a health standpoint entering camp.
