Odell Beckham Jr. Likely To Miss Rest Of New York Giants Season

New York Giants star reliever Odell Beckham Jr. injured his quad on the very last play of the week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kamu Grugier-Hill, a linebacker for the Eagles, swung his leg out in an attempt to stop Beckham Jr., who was tripped violently (no flag was called of course), and was forced into rehab for the next three weeks.

Ahead of the week 16 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Giants have several players missing from practice, one of which is Beckham, who is still nursing the tender quad.

The Giants would be wise to sit Beckham for the remainder of the year, given the team is mathematically ruled out of the playoffs and are far from any sort of meaningful matchups.

Playing the star receiver would only further the probability of injury. Conserving his health and saving him for another day is the route the Giants must take, but they also can’t shit him down for the rest of the year, so they will play the injury report game.

OBJ was though to have suffered a hematoma – a collection of blood that can very painful after a significant hit to a body part. Recent reports state that he simply strained the quad and has been limited in practice the past few weeks.
