Good Morning, New York Giants Fans!

There’s a simple reality when it comes to playing the Dallas Cowboys, especially at home in Arlington. They like to assert their dominance by running the ball early and often with their best player, Ezekiel Elliott.

If you can effectively limit his impact and production, winning becomes a whole lot easier. Essentially, forcing Dak Prescott to throw the ball is the goal.  The Giants will need to win in the trenches, which will be difficult considering they have a young core that isn’t versed in dominating against top-5 offensive lines.

The primary player and catalyst against the Cowboys will be interior lineman, Dexter Lawrence. The Giants and defensive coordinator James Bettcher will count on him to clog up the middle of the trenches and draw double teams to help linebackers Alec Ogletree and Tae Davis operate the holes.

Lawrence might be young, but he’s a massive body that has speed and athleticism on his side. If he can create pressure in the pocket and move some of the league’s better offensive fronts, the Giants’ chances of winning will sky-rocket. Prescott is an entirely different quarterback when under pressure.

Expect Bettcher to draw up unpredictable blitzes and get after Prescott early on in the game, giving the offense a chance to score in the first half. The Giants must walk away with the lead in the first half if they wish to close the game out and leave Arlington with a “1” in the win column.
