After the conclusion of the NFL Draft, training camp is the next big event on the calendar of most NFL fans. For the New York Giants, and the majority of the league’s teams, it looks like that’s set to begin on July 27 when players are set to report to their facilities.

The news has been reported by Art Stapleton as well as Tom Pelissero, who claim that the league will have all teams except for three begin their training camp on that date. While camp is set to begin on July 27, however, it won’t get into full swing with fan events and actual practices until a few days later on the 31st.

This training camp will be especially important for the Giants given their numerous additions this offseason – the team has added to both sides of the ball with multiple new starters joining the roster as well as many depth players. Some areas of the team, such as the wide receiving corps, backfield, and secondary, will look very different compared to last season.

The big challenge, of course, will be getting everyone on the same page in the limited time before the season. That’s especially true during this second offseason disrupted by COVID-19, which has prevented NFL teams from working out as much as they would during a standard offseason.

Also of note is the HBO Hard Knocks series which follows an NFL team through training camp each year. The Giants are eligible to be selected in 2021, despite the historical reluctance of the franchise to appear on the show.

Most fans don’t want to see the Giants appear on the program as it would provide another big distraction, but luckily, it seems like other teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars are likelier options due to their own dramatic offseasons.

There’s no word on which team will end up on Hard Knocks yet, but with a training camp starting date set, we might hear about it sooner rather than later.
