The New York Giants are in need of a dynamic linebacker to compliment Alec Ogletree in the middle of the field. The No. 6 overall pick might be too high to select a linebacker unless it’s LSU standout defender, Devin White.
However, the No. 17 pick could be allocated toward various different positions. The defense makes the most sense as there are weak spots across the unit and the offense is in decent shape heading into 2019.
Late this weekend and going into Monday the Giants will host Michigan defender Devin Bush as a part of their top-30 visits. He will spend two days interviewing and working out in New York.

What makes Devin Bush so appealing for the New York Giants?
Bush is a quality playmaker that’s capable of stopping the run and defending in coverage. He has elite athleticism and instincts, two traits that are essential in top-level linebackers. In addition to his tangibles, he has a knack for finding the football and being involved in most plays. He’s aggressive downhill and finds a way to fill gaps/running lanes.

His range, however, tops the bill in terms of positive attributes. He’s a pure sideline-to-sideline tackler with great chasing ability. At the next level, he will be tasked with covering running backs and tight ends off the line of scrimmage. If drafted, Ogletree would likely play a run-defender role.
Bush is also a sure-tackler, showing a keen touch in regards to bringing ball-carriers down and limiting yards-after-catch. It’s expected that Bush will play as a weakside linebacker, a position the Giants need to fill with healthy quality. It will give him the freedom to dissect plays and utilize his instincts to find the ball.

Adding a player of Bush’s quality to the middle of the field would allow recently acquires Swiss Army Knife safety Jabrill Peppers to activate his athleticism and perform as a utility player that will move around the field in a unique fashion.
