The New York Giants will face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday in an effort to improve their win streak to four games. The Giants are coming into this game with an impressive 5-1 record. The 2-4 Jaguars are on a three-game losing streak, looking to snap that streak against the injury-riddled Giants. The Giants just ruled out five key players ahead of their Week 7 matchup against Jacksonville.

Giants rule out five players in Week 7

On today’s injury report, five key players were ruled out by the New York Giants.:

  • OUT IN WEEK 7:
    • CB Cor’Dale Flott (calf)
    • WR Kenny Golladay (knee)
    • DE Azeez Ojulari (calf)
    • WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring)
    • LB Oshane Ximines (quad)

The Giants are continuing to be ravaged by injuries, particularly at wide receiver. Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney are both out again this week adding doubt as to when the skill players will be able to return to the lineup. For Toney, his return to the lineup is still likely several weeks away. The second-year receiver believes he came back too early from his previous injury, causing this new hamstring injury. Toney said he is confident that his body will cooperate moving forward and that he will be back in the lineup at some point this season (Jordan Raanan).

Three key players were ruled out on the defensive side of the ball. The Giants’ pass-rushing department is still hobbled as both Oshane Ximines and Azeez Ojulari will be held out of this Week 7 contest. Ximines has had a quiet, but solid season thus far. Ojulari has not played much, but the Giants are eager to get such a talented player back on the field as soon as possible. In the meantime, the Giants will continue to rely on Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jihad Ward to get after opposing quarterbacks.

Rookie cornerback Cor’Dale Flott has struggled in his limited snaps and is going to be out this Sunday with an injury. The Giants are thin in the secondary with Flott and Aaron Robinson both out of the lineup. Thankfully, veteran defensive back Fabien Moreau has stepped up to the plate.

In addition to these five players being ruled out this Sunday, starting center Jon Feliciano and safety Jason Pinnock are questionable. Feliciano is expected to play, though, alongside stud left tackle Andrew Thomas. Andrew Thomas has been dealing with an elbow injury but received no injury designation today, meaning he will start for the Giants on Sunday.
