The New York Giants have had a productive offseason so far, but with training camp right around the corner, they could attempt to patch one last hole on their roster. The Giants did little to solve their weakness at CB2 this off-season despite clearly needing a new, established starter opposite Deonte Banks. Perhaps they could head into free agency and target a familiar face to patch up the hole that they still have in their defense and backfield.
Could the Giants reunite with Adoree’ Jackson this summer?
Sometimes familiarity is everything. Veteran cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has familiarity with the Giants and then some. Jackson spent the last three seasons with Big Blue after signing a deal with the team in the 2021 offseason. During that time, he appeared in 37 games for New York, making 36 starts and totaling, 176 combined tackles, two interceptions, and 23 pass defenses.
Jackson struggled during the 2023 season as he attempted to split his time between the boundary cornerback and the nickel cornerback spots. His contract expired this offseason and the Giants chose not to sign him to an extension. However, at the beginning of the offseason, Jackson did express his interest in returning to the team if the situation was right.
Now far past the initial free agency period, Jackson is still unsigned and the Giants still don’t have an upgrade at cornerback. Third-year corner Cor’Dale Flott is expected to take over as the team’s starter, however, he possesses minimal experience playing on the boundary.
Jackson wouldn’t necessarily be an upgrade to the secondary, but he would bring a sense of liability and consistency to the group. The Giants know what they’re getting in Jackson. He’s been in the building for years and has played at a high level for them in the past.

During the final weeks of last season, Jackson flashed the gas that he still had left in the tank with a pick-six against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15. This highlight reminded fans that Jackson is still a quality veteran player.
If the Giants want to bring a little bit more experience into their secondary, they could consider reuniting with Jackson on a cheap one-year deal to maintain some continuity in their secondary.
