The UFC is heading to Seattle on February 22nd and yesterday we learned that a couple of bantamweight matchups will headline the card. Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong will be headlining the card. Meanwhile, UFC brass confirmed to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger that in the co-main event, former champion Dominick Cruz (24-4) will take on Rob Font (21-8).

Starting with Rob Font, he’ll be looking for his second straight win. The last time we saw Font was back in October when he scored a big decision over Kyler Phillips. Font was a pretty big underdog in that fight having lost back-to-back fights leading up to the fight After Font found himself in title contention back in 2021, he’s just 2-4 in his last six. This is a big fight for him to continue staying relevant in the UFC’s bantamweight division.

What a journey it’s been for former champion Dominick Cruz. This fight in February will be his first fight in two and a half years. Back in 2021, Cruz won back-to-back fights and it seemed like he could make another run towards bantamweight title contention.

He was booked in a main event against Chito Vera and he did look good in that fight. However, Vera caught him flush with a head kick in the fourth round and that ended the fight. Cruz’s career has been littered with injuries and it’s really a shame because had he been healthy, he could’ve gone down as one of the greatest of all time.

The former UFC champion said a couple of months ago that he was wanting a last dance. It appears he found that dance partner in Rob Font.
