The UFC‘s return to London in July is starting to shape up and it looks like another banger of a card. We already know that the card is being headlined by a heavyweight battle between Tom Apinall and Curtis Blaydes.
We also know that Alexander Gustafsson – Nikita Krylov is on the main card. However, we also now know that one of England’s most beloved fighters is returning in the co-main event of UFC London.
Darren Till (18-4-1) is back and he’s taking on Sweden’s Jack Hermansson (22-7). MMANytt was the first to report the booking. The UFC has tried to book The Gorilla versus The Joker in the past, but the fight has always fallen through. Now, we are hoping we get to see it in London.
Hermansson will be looking to bounce back after his last fight. He had a headliner against Sean Strickland and lost by split decision. However, it was rather clear to most watching that Hermansson lost the fight clearly.
In his last six fights, Hermansson has gone 3-3 in the UFC. His only three losses have come against top five contenders while his wins came against Jacare Souza, Kelvin Gastelum, and Edmen Shahbazyan. Defeating Till at UFC London would be a huge way to get back on track.
Till Returns at UFC London
Originally, there were talks to have Darren Till fight on the UFC’s first London card back in March. However, injuries kept Till away from a potential fight with Uriah Hall. That has been the theme over the past few years with Darren Till.
When Till first came onto the UFC scene, he was rushed right to the top. After a 5-0-1 start in the octagon, the UFC gave him a title shot with Tyron Woodley. Till was stopped in the second round and then he got knocked out by Jorge Masvidal.
Since the los to Masvidal, Till is 1-2 inside the octagon. Overall, he will enter UFC London 1-4 in his last five fights including a two-fight losing streak.
Till needs a win in the worst way and getting one at home would be a great way to start.
