The UFC has finalized a fun welterweight matchup between ranked contenders for their upcoming Fight Night in San Antonio. MMA Fighting first reported yesterday that Sean Brady (15-1) will be taking on Michel Pereira (28-11).

The matchup will take place at UFC San Antonio which goes down on March 25th. For Brady, this will be his chance to bounce back after suffering his first career defeat. Brady entered the octagon last October against Belal Muhammad as a top prospect and betting favorite.

However, Muhammad completely shut him down and ultimately stopped him in the second round. It was a humbling experience for the welterweight contender. Now, he’s getting a chance to take on another ranked contender as he looks to re-establish himself amongst the best in the UFC.

Michel Pereira bursted onto the UFC scene with a big knockout over Danny Roberts back in 2019. He showed right away his wild style and he showed that he always wants to put on a show. He tried to do the same thing in his next bout against Tristan Connelly and lost a decision after he gassed out.

Since then, he’s really calmed things down and come into his own. He’s currently riding a five-fight winning streak and the competition has stepped up along the way. The last time we saw him was back in May when he defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio by split decision. Whoever wins this bout on March 25th is likely getting a top ten opponent in the UFC’s welterweight division.
