The UFC has finalized a fun matchup in their welterweight division. MMA Fighting was the first to report yesterday that Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena (13-2) will be fighting next month on home soil as he takes on “Rude Boy” Randy Brown (16-4).
The matchup goes down at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia. Both men are looking to crack the top fifteen with a big win next month. Randy Brown will enter the octagon on the longest winning streak of his octagon career.
Brown has won four fights in a row and his last win came back in October against Francisco Trinaldo. Randy Brown was one of the first fighters to ever earn a contract on Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight. He made his debut when he was just 6-0 all the way back in 2016.
He’s been in there with the likes of Belal Muhammad, Bryan Barberena, and Vicente Luque. He’s not going to be intimidated taking on the home town kid at UFC 284.
UFC Homecoming
You couldn’t imagine a tougher start to a professional MMA career than Jack Della Maddalena had. Della Maddalena lost his first two fights and was stopped in both of them. However, he hasn’t lost since. After those first two losses, he won nine straight fights which earned him a shot on Dana White’s Contender Series.
He was 10-2 when he made his UFC debut and he’s won his first three fights. All three by first round knockout and he’s looking better and better each time he fights. If he’s able to pick up a big win over Randy Brown, I guarantee you’ll see a number by his name after the PPV in Perth.
