Eagle FC 47 Preview

Tomorrow night in Miami, Eagle FC will host their 47th card and they are bringing some heavy hitters for their main event. Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos (21-9) returns to action as he takes on another former UFC heavyweight in Yorgan De Castro (8-3).

De Castro earned himself a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series and won his first fight by knocking out Justin Tafa. However, after that, he lost three straight to get released from the promotion. After picking up a regional win, he signed with Eagle FC.

In his debut with the promotion, he submitted Shaun Asher in the first round. Now, he’s going to be taking on a former world champion in his second fight with Eagle FC.

This will be the first time that we’ve seen Junior Dos Santos compete since December of 2020. JDS last fought at UFC 256 when he was stopped by Ciryl Gane. The former champion lost his last four fights all by stoppage.

After his last UFC appearance, JDS was intent on doing some boxing. However, Eagle FC came calling and he decided to put the MMA gloves back on and he’s going into a main event tomorrow night. If he wins, Khabib Nurmagomedov has mentioned being interested in doing a cross-promotion fight with Bellator to book JDS against Fedor Emelianenko.

Eagle FC 47 Co-Main Event

In the co-main event tomorrow night, we are going to see a helluva fight in the Eagle FC light heavyweight division. Former world champion Hector Lombard (34-10-1) returns to MMA as he takes on UFC veteran Thiago Silva (21-9).

The last couple of years has seen Hector Lombard compete in BKFC. However, Eagle FC was able to bring him back to the cage and he’s going to bring his exciting style into the co-main event tomorrow night.

Overall in BKFC, Lombard went 3-1 and became a champion. He lost his last fight and then jumped to Eagle FC for the card tomorrow night. Speaking of long MMA layoffs, Thiago Silva will be fighting for the first time in over three years.

After going 16-3 in his MMA career and having a really solid run in the UFC, Silva was released after a domestic dispute with his ex-wife. From there, Silva spent some time on the regional circuit and went 5-6 in 11 fights.

Now, he’s returning at Eagle FC 47 and he’s ready to show that he’s still got some gas left in the tank. The full card can be seen below.
