UFC 323 goes down at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas on December 6th and today, we learned about some big time fights that are going down on the card. Dana White took to social media this afternoon and announced the final PPV card of 2025.
White announced that in the main event, Merab Dvalishvili (21-4) will be making the quick turnaround to defend his bantamweight title against a familiar foe in former champion Petr Yan (19-5). Dvalishvili just defended his bantamweight title a little over a week ago against Cory Sandhagen.
Following that win, Dvalishvili met with UFC officials on Monday of last week and begged for the opportunity to headline the December card. Dvalishvili is aiming to become the first champion in history to defend his title four times in a calendar year. White loves when fighters want to be active and he was happy to book this fight.
Dvalishvili started the year with defending his title against Umar Nurmagomedov. Following that win, he finished Sean O’Malley in their rematch in June before defeating Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320 just nine days ago. Dvalishvili has now won 14 fights in a row including a dominant win over Petr Yan.
Yan lost to Dvalishvili in March 2023. Simply put, Yan had no answer for the wrestling and pressure of Dvalishvili that night. However, since that loss, Yan has won three fights in a row. He defeated Song Yadong, Deiveson Figueiredo, and Marcus McGhee to get himself right back in title contention. The former UFC champion fully believes he can beat Dvalishvili in the rematch and now he gets his chance.
