BREAKING: UFC 313 co-main event will be Justin Gaethje – Dan Hooker

The UFC is having their first PPV of 2025 tonight and they broke some major news on the broadcast. They announced that their first PPV in Las Vegas for 2025 on March 8th will be headlined by Alex Pereira – Magomed Ankalaev. They also announced a massive lightweight co-main event which will be five-rounds.

Former interim lightweight champion and former BMF title holder Justin Gaethje (25-5) will be taking on “The Hangman” Dan Hooker (24-12). UFC 313 goes down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and it’s going to be a helluva night.

Starting with Dan Hooker, he has completely turned his career around over his last three fights. In 2020, Hooker looked like a guy who was going to challenge for the lightweight title. However, he hit a rough patch in his career and he was questioning his future in the UFC. He even dropped to 145 for a one-fight stint where he was stopped by Arnold Allen. However, three straight lightweight wins has him on the cusp of title contention once again.

UFC 313 Co-Main Event

Justin Gaethje became the BMF when he knocked out Dustin Poirier back in the summer of 2023. Gaethje was next in line to face Islam Makhachev, but the UFC came calling and asked if he’d fight Max Holloway at UFC 300 for the BMF title.

Gaethje did the promotion a huge favor and risked his spot. Unfortunately, Gaethje found himself on the losing end of a huge knockout. “The Highlight” has taken some time off and he’s ready to try and make one more run towards the lightweight title. His pursuit starts in March when he faces Dan Hooker.
