Boxing: Jake Paul reportedly fighting Mike Perry on July 20th

Jake Paul (9-1) was expecting to have a boxing match with former world champion Mike Tyson (50-6). Of course, this matchup brought a ton of criticism from the combat sports community considering the fact that Tyson will be turning 58-years-old at the end of this month.

Tyson had a recent health scare with his ulcer flaring up and as a result, the fight was postponed. Many were hoping that the boxing match would be cancelled altogether, but it was recently announced that the matchup is being rescheduled for November 15th. All the details remain the same as the matchup will be broadcasted on Netflix and it will go down at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Jake Paul was getting a ton of negative feedback about wasting a year of his boxing career just to fight a nearly 60-year-old Mike Tyson. Well, last night we learned that Paul might not be waiting. While he’s still planning on the matchup with Mike Tyson, Happy Punch is reporting that Paul will be boxing BKFC champion Mike Perry (5-0 Bare Knuckle) on July 20th.

Boxing Match – July 20th

The fight is not official yet, but Happy Punch is saying the sources are coming directly from the Jake Paul camp. This is a much more compelling matchup if you ask me. While it’s not been traditional boxing, Mike Perry has been a savage since making the move over to Bare Knuckle.

Since making the jump in 2022, Perry has been perfect in BKFC. During his stretch, he’s defeated the likes of Michael “Venom” Page, Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves. Three of those wins came via stoppage. These two actually have a bit of history between them.

A few years back, Jake Paul sparred Mike Perry as he prepared for a boxing match. These two have gone back and forth about that sparring match over the years and now it looks like they’ll get to settle things in a professional capacity. While not official, it’s expected that this will get announced in the next week.
