Ranking the NFL’s top 10 players entering the 2024 season. Of course, the league’s best quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, tops the list, but the following players are debatable, and we would love to get your take in the comment section.
1) Patrick Mahomes
Coming off his third Super Bowl win, Patrick Mahomes has once again proven himself to be the best player in the NFL. He’s one of the league’s most dominant postseason performers at all times, and no matter how suspect the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs roster might be, they will always be title contenders with Mahomes at the helm.
2) Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson won the MVP award for the 2023 campaign and will be looking to run it back this upcoming year. Lamar is impossible to game-plan for and has emerged as an elite quarterback at multiple levels.

3) Myles Garrett
Myles Garrett is the best pass-rusher in football. An absolute game-breaker in 2023, he was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 14 sacks for the Cleveland Browns. Garrett has been a First-Team All-Pro in three of the last four seasons, and that trend is likely to continue in 2024.
4) Christian McCaffrey
Christian McCaffrey helped lead a dynamic San Francisco 49ers run game, showing that a running back can have substantial value despite teams staying away from overpaying at the position. McCaffrey is an offense on his own and represents one of the most dynamic players in the NFL.
5) Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is the best wide receiver in the NFL. He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023 and, before getting banged up down the stretch, was at one time on pace to surpass 2,000 receiving yards — a feat never accomplished before in the NFL. If anyone is going to set that record in 2024, it will be “Cheetah.”
6) Josh Allen
The Buffalo Bills sport one of the best quarterbacks in football, Josh Allen, given his abilities off-script and out of structure. Allen has come close to a Super Bowl on multiple occasions but continues to struggle to beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.
7) Justin Jefferson
While Tyreek Hill might have been the NFL’s best wide receiver in 2023, if not for injuries, Justin Jefferson would have made a compelling case as the league’s top receiving weapon. Jefferson was the league’s leading receiver in 2022, with 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns on 128 receptions. He played in only 10 games this past season but averaged more yards per game (107.4) than he did in 2022. Fully healthy, Justin Jefferson is an Offensive Player of the Year candidate in 2024.
8) Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce remains one of the most dynamic and productive tight ends in football, helping Mahomes win another championship this past season. Despite his age climbing, Kelce emerges as a premium offensive weapon every season.
9) Micah Parsons
Micah Parsons could be the NFL’s first defensive player to receive a contract in excess of $40 million per season. He’s entering a contract year in 2024 but has already firmly established himself as one of the best and most versatile defensive players in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker has had a historic start to his career and will enter the 2024 season as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
10) TJ Watt
One of the best pass-rushers in football is T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Watt has dealt with some injury concerns over the past few seasons, his ability to win off the edge is unparalleled. Watt has one of the highest pass-rush win percentages in the game and continues to be a dominant force off the edge.
