Breaking down the top 10 NFL Super Bowl contenders for the 2024-25 season! Make sure to drop your thoughts and feedback in the comment section.
No. 10: New York Jets
On paper, the New York Jets have one of the best rosters in the NFL. General manager Joe Douglas has made some crucial moves to build a championship-contending roster. However, whether due to injuries, poor coaching, or other factors, Gang Green has yet to compete at that highest level. But with Aaron Rodgers fully healthy and returning to the field this season, it seems like now or never for the Jets.
No. 9: Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the NFL’s most successful regular season teams over the past several years. Winning in the postseason has been the challenge, however, getting to play January football seems like a given for Dak Prescott and The Boys. Their roster is supremely talented with stars like Prescott, WR CeeDee Lamb, LB Micah Parsons, CB Trevon Diggs, and others on both sides of the ball. Perhaps this year will be the year that Dallas finally ends their championship drought.

No. 8: Houston Texans
The Houston Texans were the NFL’s biggest breakout team last season, led by Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud. Entering his second season in the NFL, Stroud is now viewed as one of the game’s elite signal-callers and has a loaded arsenal of weapons to throw the ball to and a stacked defense to help lead the team. The Texans are becoming a force in a loaded AFC.
No. 7: Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers made a deep postseason run last year behind the breakout of QB Jordan Love. In his first season as a starter, Love was sensational, and subsequently earned a historic payday this offseason. Love will enter this season with championship aspirations as he and head coach Matt LaFleur look to take things a step further.

No. 6: Buffalo Bills
For as long as Josh Allen is their quarterback, the Buffalo Bills will be contenders. He has been elite in each of the last four seasons and, despite the Bills losing some of the talent around Allen, he still seems primed for another big year. Their improved rushing attack should help the Bills’ chances come playoff time.
No. 5: Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is back, fully healthy, and still has an offensive lineup loaded with elite receiving talent to target. The Bengals made it to the big dance a few years ago but fell short to the Los Angeles Rams. Since then, they have had some bad breaks with injuries, but maintained their talented core of stars that got them to their first Super Bowl appearance of the decade. Their roster is talented enough to get back to the Super Bowl this season — as long as they stay healthy.
No. 4: Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions play the riskiest brand of football out of any team in the NFL. Sometimes their risks pay off big time, other times their risks can come back to haunt them — as they did in last year’s NFC Conference Championship Game. The Lions know it should have been them representing the NFC in the Super Bowl last season, rather than the San Fransisco 49ers. But they still have the same, ultra-talented roster, and elite head coach in Dan Campbell leading them. The Lions will have another shot at going to the Super Bowl this season.
No. 3: Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson won the league’s MVP award last season for the second time in his career as he led the Baltimore Ravens to an elite 13-4 record. The Ravens might have the most complete roster in the NFL this season: an elite quarterback, a dominant rushing attack, a stifling defense, and one of the best head coaches in the league. The Ravens are one of the top teams in the AFC this season.
No. 2: San Fransisco 49ers
The San Fransisco 49ers were just a few plays away from winning the Super Bowl last season. However, they came up just short, losing the big game for the second time in the last few years. But the 49ers kept their roster intact this offseason and will be eager to return to the championship dance this season. QB Brock Purdy still has all his weapons with WRs Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, RB Christian McCaffrey, among others. The 49ers are a supremely talented roster but just need to make the one or two key plays to hoist a Lombardi Trophy this season.
No. 1: Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in the last five years last season on the back of another heroic performance from QB Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs have an elite offense, an elite defense, an elite head coach, and the best player in the world. They are the league’s top Super Bowl contenders until proven otherwise.
