Jack Curry of YES Network reports that the New York Yankees have promoted RHP Cam Schlittler from Double-A to Triple-A following a dominant start on Sunday.
The right-hander has a 2.38 ERA and 2.18 FIP across 53 innings, striking out 64 batters with just 17 walks while maintaining a 48.4% groundball rate.
His fastball has upticked in velocity from when he was drafted in 2022, sitting around 95 MPH and touching 99 MPH multiple times this season.
A consensus top 10 prospect in the Yankees’ organization, Cam Schlittler is now just one step away from making his Major League debut.
Cam Schlittler Is Now Just One Level Away From Joining the Yankees

The Yankees have become a pitching factory, and Cam Schlittler looks to be another starter who breaks through from their farm system.
Michael King, Luis Gil, Clarke Schmidt, and Jordan Montgomery are some recent success stories from their farm system, and there is a bevy of pitchers whom they’ve acquired that have taken leaps with the organization as well.
Schlittler was drafted out of Northeastern University during the 2022 MLB Draft, and he possessed a mediocre fastball that sat around 90-91 MPH with underwhelming movement.
Fast-forward to today, and the 6’6 right-hander has a heater that can overwhelm hitters at the top of the zone due to his velocity and extension.

Sporting three plus secondary pitches to go with his solid fastball, Cam Schlittler has been one of the best pitchers at the Double-A level this year.
He has been a strike-throwing machine capable of carving through a lineup efficiently, and while he doesn’t have a very forward-facing personality, his on-field demeanor is very intense.
The ability to induce soft contact on the ground, combined with good strikeout rates, makes Schlittler a very valuable pitcher in the Yankees’ organization, and he could make his debut later this season.
