The New York Yankees have beaten the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 9-1, clinching the American League East! It’s also the team’s 100th win of the season, and Aaron Boone’s 200th as the Yankee skipper.

First off, congratulations to the New York Yankees. They absolutely deserve this. They’ve been through so much this year and nobody would of thought that they would be able to win the East.

All of the injury problems really begun in the ALDS last year when Didi Gregorius was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery. Then, guys like Aaron Hicks, Luis Severino, and Dellin Betances went down in the spring.

Come regular season, the team lost Greg Bird, Troy Tulowitzki, Giancarlo Stanton, Miguel Andujar, and Aaron Judge in just weeks. Judge is back now, along with Stanton after two IL stints.

Guys like Gio Urshela, Mike Ford, Kyle Higashioka, Breyvic Valera, Tyler Wade, Thairo Estrada, Clint Frazier, and many others were forced to come up and were absolutely incredible. They’ve found their third baseman of the future in Gio Urshela and it may force the team to trade Andujar over the winter.

The team also signed DJ LeMahieu over the offseason as a utility player. But, that utility player will instead be on the MVP ballot with a shot at the batting title.

Everything that has happened to the Yankees this year is absolutely crazy, and it’s hard to believe that we won the East with a shot at the best record in baseball. Brian Cashman has worked his magic again, and hopefully the success will continue into October.

“It’s making for a good World Series DVD.”
