Just over a week ago, New York Yankees fans were complaining about how Brian Cashman didn’t trade for a pitcher. Since then, his team has responded to the fans.

The Yankees have now won nine games in a row, dating back to the day of the trade deadline. They won the final game of a two game set against Arizona, before sweeps of the Red Sox and Orioles, followed by a series opening win over the Blue Jays.

And remember, this is all with the team down many players due to injury. The streak has been led by very unlikely figures in Austin Romine and Mike Tauchman, while of course Gio Urshela and DJ LeMahieu have been doing their parts too.

Aaron Judge has only played mediocre of late, and Gleyber Torres has missed some games in the past week due to a few day-to-day injuries.

And guess what? The Yankees have a great chance to extend that win streak. They have three more games against the Blue Jays, then return home for three more against the Orioles. Afterwards, the opponents beef up a bit, but the Yankees need to continue to capitalize in a loll in their schedule.

Hopefully for now, the Yankees can jut keep grinding along, winning games, and getting the team healthy. Luke Voit, Giancarlo Stanton, and Luis Severino are making good rehab progress, and should be back soon. Voit should be able to avoid surgery, making his return happen even sooner.

What the Yankees are doing this year is absolutely incredible and I hope it continues.
