The New York Yankees are headed out west for a nine game swing which includes three games with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This series is starting to become one of the most hyped regular season series in recent MLB history.

The two teams have the best record in their respective leagues, and the teams are the favorites to match-up in the World Series. The Dodgers are coming off World Series losses the last two seasons.

It’s also players weekend, where teams where colorful uniforms and special cleats with wild nicknames on the backs of their shirts. The Yankees will be wearing black road uniforms throughout the weekend.

It’s also big because the cities of New York and Los Angeles always compete against each other, and the winner of the series would have some serious bragging rights.

There also happens to be a few fantastic pitching match-ups. NL Cy Young favorite Hyun-Jin Ryu will be facing James Paxton on Friday, while Clayton Kershaw will face Domingo German on Sunday night under the lights on ESPN.

Personally, I’m so excited to see this series unfold. The winner of the series could change betting odds for the World Series, and the Dodgers and the Yankees don’t play very often, adding more excitement. Though I like the DH, it’s fun to be able to see pitchers have a few at-bats once in a while.

Hopefully, with all the meaning of the series, TV ratings will be booming. All three games will be broadcasted nationally, and hopefully people will want to watch it.

It would sure be a lot of fun to see this match-up again in October.
