Wow. What a start to the postseason.

The New York Yankees absolutely dominated the first two games of the ALDS at home against the Minnesota Twins. After a shaky few first innings in game one, the Yankees absolutely took control behind the likes of DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres and won 10-4.

The bats stayed red-hot in game two, and it took no time to get on the board. Edwin Encarnacion, Brett Gardner, and Torres had RBI singles, and Didi Gregorius had a grand-slam as the Yankees won 8-2.

Now, the team looks towards game three and an ALDS sweep in Minnesota. Ace Luis Severino will make his fourth start of 2019 and will face former Tampa Bay Ray Jake Odorizzi.

The Twins will be playing at home, attempting to break their 15 game postseason losing streak. Hearing that should just drain their confidence even more. When Didi hit the grand slam in game two, the Twins looked done. They were done trying. Now, they must win three games in a row in a national spotlight against a team that they haven’t beat in years in October.

Getting the series done in three games would be huge for the Yankees. They would have five days off until the beginning of the ALCS on 10/12. All of their arms can get rested, and the team can get healthier. And they would have the same amount of rest, if not more rest the the Astros/Rays depending on how long the series goes and who wins.

A sweep in the ALDS would be huge for the New York Yankees.
