New York Yankees Have Very Manageable Schedule To End The Season

With the season winding down, the New York Yankees are in need of wins to help them in the postseason. The magic number to clinch the AL East is dwindling, but the team will obviously be playing in October.

They need wins so they can get the best record in the AL and the best record in the MLB. A second-best or better record in the AL gives them home-field advantage for the ALDS, while the best record in the AL also gives them home-field advantage for the ALCS.

If the Yankees manage to get the best record in all of baseball, they get home-field advantage in the World Series as well.

With the Yankees still having a lot to play for, they have a very manageable schedule to end the season.

Following the Boston series are three games with the Tigers and three games with the Blue Jays on the road. The Tigers are the worst team in baseball while the Blue Jays are fourth in the AL East.

The team then goes home for three with the Angels and three more with the Blue Jays. To end the year, they have two at the Trop against the Rays and three in Texas against the Rangers. The two games with the Rays are the only two games against teams over .500 here on out.

The Yankees really need to take advantage of this schedule to get the wins they need. Help from other teams would make it easier, but if the Yankees just keep winning games, they won’t need much help.
