After less than two weeks on the IL, New York Yankees southpaw CC Sabathia will be returning and will start on Sunday against the Boston Red Sox.
After his start on May 22 against the Orioles, he was placed on the IL with knee inflammation. He had said his knee was acting up for a few weeks and that it was time to take care of it.
The lefty then returned to New York to get a cortisone shot and would feel it out during the mandatory 10 days. After not hearing much for a little over a week, Aaron Boone announced that he would start on Sunday, meaning his shot went well.
Sunday’s game will be at 7:05 PM on ESPN. Sabathia will face David Price of the Red Sox.
