New York Yankees And Miami Marlins Are “Night and Day” For Giancarlo Stanton

The New York Yankees acquired slugger Giancarlo Stanton from the Miami Marlins last offseason in a blockbuster deal. Stanton had a solid first season in the Bronx, slashing .266/.343/.509. While there is plenty of room for improvement, adjusting to the American League and Yankee Stadium are not easy tasks.

The Yankees have brought Stanton to new heights:

With the Marlins, Stanton struggled to reach the playoffs and was kept in the dark for a majority of his professional career. In his first season with the Bombers he reached the ALDS, the farthest he’s ever been. That could have played a part in his jitters throughout the season – being on a winning team isn’t necessarily easy.

Giancarlo compared his time in Miami with the Big Apple, stating that it is “day and night.”

The $325 million star is having more success in New York than he’s ever had down south, winning more than 80 games for the first time in his nine-year career.

In 2018, Stanton smacked 38 homers and 100 RBIs, but also struck out a massive 211 times. In a hitter-friendly Yankees Stadium, he will have to elevate his game if he wishes to take the Yanks to their first World Series appearance since 2009.
