The New York Rangers announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with F Jimmy Vesey on a two-year extension.

New York Rangers and forward Jimmy Vesey have agreed to terms on a two-year extension in an announcement made on Wednesday afternoon.

Vesey, 26, is in his second stint with the club after signing with the team in September. He recorded six goals and six assists for 12 points and a plus-4 rating in 38 games with the Blueshirts this season. He is averaging 13:38 of ice time per game, playing on all four lines at one time or another this year.

The Massachusetts native made this team on his special team skills as a premiere penalty killer. Among forwards, Vesey ranks fourth in shorthanded time on ice with a 56:08 mark and is one of three Rangers with a shorthanded goal this season.

In 460 career games between the Rangers (2016-17 – 2018-19, 2022-23), Buffalo Sabres (2019-20), Toronto Maple Leafs (2020-21), Vancouver Canucks (2020-21), and New Jersey Devils (2021-22), Vesey has notched 78 goals and 69 assists for 147 points.

Vesey signed a PTO with the Rangers in the off-season and went on to sign a one-year contract with the Rangers in October.
