Tonight, the New York Rangers will be taking on the Calgary Flames. The Rangers are looking to keep their win streak going after they beat the Seattle Kraken 4-1. In the case of the Calgary Flames, they are looking to get on the right track as they have lost their last two games.

Records

New York Rangers 3-2-0
Calgary Flames 2-3-1

Venue

The New York Rangers in this matchup are the away team as they are in a grueling travel schedule for the next few games. The Calgary Flames will be the home team and this game will be played at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Projected Lineup

Offense:

Kreider – Zib – Kakko

Panarin – Chytil – Laf

Cuylle – Trocheck – Wheeler

Goodrow – Bonino – Pitlick

Defense:

Lindgren – Fox

Miller – Trouba

Gustafsson – Schneider

The only change for the lineup is who is starting in the net. Last game Jonothan Quick was in the net after the Rangers let Igor Shesterkin some rest. Tonight will likely be Shesterkin back in the net for the Blueshirts.

Injuries

New York Rangers

Nick Bonino – Illness – Questionable

Bonino was not practicing yesterday as he was under the weather with some sort of illness. While it is not 100% confirmed if he will be out, if he is not seen in practice today, expect him to be a scratch tonight.

Calgary Flames

Jakob Pelletier – Shoulder – Out Indefinitely

The only injured Flame on the team is Jakob Pelletier. Pelletier has been injured since September and it’s likely he won’t be back for a good bit of time. It would not be surprising if Pelletier was out for the entire season.

Prediction: New York Rangers 3 – Calgary Flames 2

This will be a closer game as the Flames mostly play the Rangers close. The Blueshirts should take care of business against the Calgary Flames who are a much weaker team. The Flames are also extremely inconsistent as well and if the Rangers play well tonight, they should take care of business. This would be a big victory for Shesterkin if he is in the net as the Flames are one of the teams he has never beaten in his NHL career so far.

3 Stars of the Game Prediction

1. Jacob Trouba

2. Mika Zibanejad

3. Kappo Kakko
