The well-traveled Edwin Jackson almost made history again if he signed with the New York Mets before Spring Training. The veteran decided to sign with the Arizona Diamondbacks instead, which kept him one-off from playing for half the teams in Major League Baseball.
The Mets had a minor league offer out to Edwin Jackson earlier this year. He signed with the DBacks.
If he accepted, he would've made history as the only MLB player to join 15 different organizations. He'll have to settle for the only one to play for 14. https://t.co/0EQ027cyuG pic.twitter.com/HNerq2odMB

The Dodgers, Rays, Tigers, Diamondbacks, White Sox, Cardinals, Nationals, Cubs, Braves, Marlins, Padres, Orioles, Athletics and Blue Jays are his 14 stops over his 17-year career. The longest he has ever spent with a team was three seasons and has not spent consecutive Opening Days with the same team since 2014-15.
Return to the Big Leagues
It is safe to assume Jackson would have started the year in Triple-A due to the pitching depth the Mets have both in their rotation and bullpen. He gives himself a better chance to crack the Diamondbacks starting rotation by signing there. After a rebirth of his career in 2018, his ERA skyrocketed in 2019. Jackson had a 9.58 ERA with the Blue Jays and Tigers and will try to earn a roster spot when baseball continues again.
