New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was scratched from Wednesday’s game against the Houston Astros after doctors suggested he undergo testing for an irregular heartbeat.

Nimmo was required to wear a heart monitor for the last 24 hours but his condition is one that he and the Mets have known about for years. He also underwent a stress test.

Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen announced that Nimmo has been cleared for baseball activities after the tests came back in good order.

Earlier in the day, Nimmo’s wife sent out a Tweet confirming there was no major concern.

Nimmo is joined on the bench by fellow outfielder J.D. Davis, who is nursing a sore shoulder. Davis sustained the injury diving for a ball at third base on Tuesday.
