Bill Simmons reported on his podcast Sunday night that “he heard” James Dolan is “courting offers” for the New York Knicks over this All-Star break.

While this all sounds nice right now, it’s nothing new for Knicks fans.  It’s all rumors and Knicks fans love rumors.  However, Madison Square Garden made a statement yesterday saying that “Dolan is not courting offers” currently.  Typical.

Dolan should reconsider and start courting offers.  The Knicks are the NBA’s most valued franchise at 4 billion dollars.  Someone or some group will be willing to pay that or more for the Knicks, so Dolan should listen.

The Knicks are such a headache for Dolan anyway.  They’ve been consistently losing for years and has had controversies constantly surrounding them.  He truly doesn’t care about the Knicks, he only cares about the Garden building itself, for musical purposes.

Plus, a $4-billion-dollar, or more, payday for Dolan would be a nice chunk of change for him to put into his music or other music ventures like he wants.

The truth of the matter is we’re going to continue hearing about Dolan selling the Knicks until the end of time.  I don’t see it happening, but it has to.  The Knicks are such a burden for Dolan, he just doesn’t want to admit it.

Dolan and the Knicks are like a bad high school relationship.  Started off decent, but then soured.  And it gets to the point where it’s best that we both just go our separate ways.
