The New York Knicks continue to remain competitive in games recently.  However, they struggle to get over that hump in game.

Throughout the past few games, the Knicks have been in every game.  Their schedule does not favor them but they battle and have had chances to win every game.

The Knicks have not been playing that bad either.  They have their moments and bad stretches were the game gets out of hand but they find ways to scratch and claw their way back.  There’s a problem with them getting over that hump when they finally do come back.

The Knicks will get so far back to tying it up or only being down one or two.  They just can’t figure out how to take it to the next level, take the lead and keep it.  That’s partially on the coaching but more on the players experience.

They have the ability to win games, it just getting to that point and being able to sustain a lead.  Could it all be mental?  The Knicks haven’t been in that situation a lot as it is.  They can’t play the Mavericks every game, that is the only time when they were able to hold the lead, barely.

After last night’s loss to Brooklyn, Dennis Smith Jr. commented on how the team has been playing.  Yes, they have been pushing teams to the ‘brink’ but it’s time that they figure out how to stop pushing and grab a victory.

The New York Knicks are showing that they are capable to staying in games with good teams.  It’s good for future because once they’re able to figure it out they’ll have the confidence to close games.  This is the rough part that fans have to endure.  It has been for awhile now but remaining competitive in games will help this young team out in the long run.
