The New York Knicks keep ruining their chances to be successful

The New York Knicks have ruined their chances at competing anytime soon.  This is all because of their owners doing how the organization handled the death of George Floyd.

ESPN’s Brian Windhordt reports on First Take Wednesday how players have reacted to how the Knicks have handled this tragic situation.  “The Knicks approval rating amongst players is so low right now,” Windhorst said on First Take on Wednesday.  “It’s devastating for their hopes to appeal to anybody and say, ‘Come play for us’ going forward.  The whole purpose of retrofitting their front office, and hiring one of the most successful agents in the business in Leon Rose, hiring an image consultant, Steve Stoute, who is famous for doing work with African Americans and being more inclusive, it’s all undercut when the owner continues to show bad judgment.”

The Knicks owners decided to send out an email to the MSG staff saying that they didn’t need to make a statement.  That had fans, players, everyone outraged.  Turns out they were the very last team in the NBA to issue any such statement.

Then the Knicks PR team goes out and issues a 35-word tweet calling for equality.  Just a disgrace of a organization how they’ve handled this tragic situation.

Can you really blame players having such a low approval rating for the Knicks?  We can’t.  Plus, tell us something we don’t know.  Even if this situation doesn’t happen, their approval would still the lowest.

Players don’t want to play for the Knicks anymore.  The ‘Mecca’ isn’t cool, Kevin Durant was right.  Players want to win and the Knicks aren’t winning.

The Knicks owner is main culprit here.  The way he’s handled situations over the last few years have turned players completely off.  How their owner has handled this situation just confirms the New York Knicks won’t be winning anytime soon.
