The New York Knicks Are Consistently Inconsistent

The New York Knicks have been struggling so far this season. Slow starts against good teams that are putting the Knicks in early deficits. This scenario causes the Knicks to exert more energy on both ends of the court just to get back into the game. This usually ends in a losing effort like the loss against the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night, November 23rd.

There are few games where the Knicks come out and punch their opponent in the mouth early. Knicks would build a huge lead early in the game then fail to close the deal at the end. Similar to the game they lost in Philadelphia on November 20th. The New York Knicks are consistently inconsistent.

The New York Knicks are consistently inconsistent and nobody knows what will happen on a nightly basis. The Madison Square Garden crowd isn’t even sure whether they should cheer or not when the Knicks have the lead against a poor team. Is there hope? The fan base definitely is losing hope. Some chant “sell the team”, while others chant “fire Fizdale”. This is a very bleak first two months of the season for the Knicks and it’s a blessing they’re not televised during Christmas this year. The last thing anybody needs during Christmas dinner is indigestion due to the Knicks getting embarrassed on national television.

James Dolan must figure out a way to get his fans through these tough times, maybe discount the cable bill until the Knicks make the playoffs. Each loss gets tougher and tougher to swallow and the continuation of being the laughing stock of the NBA seems endless. Some say they wish they were never fans of the lowly Knicks. Some say they’d like Westchester Knicks to trade places with the New York Knicks for the rest of the season and tank for another lottery pick. My advice to those who are uttering those thoughts as they go off the deep end is to just be patient. I know this isn’t Philadelphia and the Knicks don’t have Embiid or Simmons, but the Knicks must also trust the process. Only because there really isn’t a choice.
