The New York Knicks are falling apart at the worst time. Tuesday’s loss against the Houston Rockets marked their third consecutive loss, which was marred by a lot of the same problems that have plagued them for a while.

Knicks’ Josh Hart not happy with performance against Rockets

New York started the game trailing 14-1, and they found themselves down double digits just before halftime after cutting the deficit to four. New York never got within eight during the whole second half, with pick-and-roll defense being a huge issue among other things.

Josh Hart was among those most displeased with his team’s performance, and stressed that Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies needs to be the day they turn things around, deeming it a “must win.”

“We’re obviously struggling right now to win games. Struggling to start games off. Struggling to focus on the attention to detail. Struggling to get outside of ourselves and focus on what the betterment of the team is. So [Wednesday] we have to play with a sense of desperation. Sense of being willing to sacrifice. To win,” Hart said via Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

The Knicks need to turn it around soon

Slow starts have hurt the Knicks tremendously. The starting five is constantly putting New York in a hole that is too steep to climb out of against playoff teams, and the Knicks are paying the price for the offensive ineptitude.

The signs showed during their recent seven-game winning streak. Despite winning those games, they came against teams under .500, some of which required comebacks from down double digits in order to secure the victory.

They need to clean things up fast with the playoffs just around. Though they have their spot in the playoffs secured, they are still in pursuit of a favorable seed. They are currently one game above the Cleveland Cavaliers for the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Wednesday against the Grizzlies will be a get right game, as they look to break some of their bad habits with the playoffs approaching.
