On Wednesday, January 1st, 2020, the New York Knicks crushed the Portland Trailblazers by a score of 117-93. New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson made sure to dominate against Portland Blazers starting center Hassan Whiteside. Mitchell Robinson finished perfect from 11-11 shooting from the field. Robinson had 22-points 8-rebounds, 1-steal and 1-block in 27-minutes of action.

New York Knicks coach Mike Miller has an effective coaching scheme which seems to help multiple players on the basketball court, including Knicks’ big man Mitchell Robinson. Despite the fact Mitchell Robinson is still coming off the bench behind Taj Gibson, the improvement on the defensive end for Big Mitch in terms of managing his fouls has led to more minutes.

Mitchell Robinson will become a serious threat for the New York Knicks if he continues to work on his game and develop under coach Mike Miller. Game experience is the best kind of experience for a young talented player with a massive upside. A diamond is being formed in New York City, and even though Knick fans were chanting Carmelo Anthony‘s name during the win against Portland, fans recognized and appreciated the effort, growth, and dominance of Mitchell Robinson on the Madison Square Garden floor.

The Knicks are now 10-24 and currently sit five games under the 8th seed in an Eastern Conference where suddenly the Chicago Bulls are ninth seed knocking on Orlando Magic’s door who currently sits 8th seed. A little bit of winning can change the landscape in the East, and Mike Miller is having a positive effect on the young group. Mitchell Robinson is benefiting in a big way, and his development is crucial for the Knicks going forward.
