New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox II must improve overall. The 20-year-old seems to have a decent work effort, therefore his improvement will be inevitable. Defensively, Knox must begin applying everything he’s learned thus far.
The glaring issue with the development of Kevin Knox is the way he handles off nights on offense. When the jumper isn’t falling, Knox lets his poor offense negatively affect his defense. There are times when Knox is on the court and the opposing coach automatically chooses to go right at Knox hoping to draw a foul or score a basket. Facilitation must be an addition to Kevin Knox’s game. Sky would be the limit if he’s able to make his teammates better.
Fizdale hasn’t given Knox the amount of time needed due to the lack of trust on the defensive end. Knox is going to have to use his physical gift of height and wingspan. Will everything “click” for Knox and turn his poor defensive play around?
Unlike RJ Barrett, Knox doesn’t reflect the game positively when struggling with his jump-shot. Fans want him to play looser and with more heart. Fizdale says he’s still working on the overall development of Kevin Knox II.
The defense will continue getting drilled into young talented personnel. Consistent basis of tough yet smart defense will come from Knox in the future.
Overall, it’s important for a lottery pick like Knox to develop into a legit two-way threat on the basketball court. Both defensively and offensively the young man will improve. Patience is key with the 20-year-old. Definitely would like more passion from Knox, get a tech!. It’s important for Knox to recognize his shortcomings before it’s too late. Drastic improvement will be crucial for Knox.
