With the influx of youth and talent on the New York Knicks’ roster, head coach David Fizdale has plenty of play makers to utilize on his team. Despite the absence of Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks will offer an improved and disciplined team to fans this season, according to Fizdale.

“Come out and support us. You will not be disappointed. We’re going to put a team on the court that you’re going to be proud of,” Fiz stated.

In past years, optimism and hope revolved around the starving franchise. The drafting of the unicorn, the french-man, and now the 19 year old Knox. Failure and demise has been the narrative for the Knicks, but I can see success on the horizon.

The future awaits for the New York Knicks:

Witnessing the development of Knox and Mitchell Robinson will be a breath of fresh air for fans and analysts alike, as the Knicks have lacked balance on both ends of the court for years. Robinson is a big man with incredible athleticism and potential around the paint, while Knox is a long legged driver with the ability to shoot on a dime.

With Porzingis being months away from returning to the starting roster, it will give the rookies ample time to adjust to the speed and power of the NBA. There will certainly be growing pains that will result in bad defeats and inconsistency, but these moments are necessary for the longevity of the franchise.

What the loss of Kristaps Porzingis means to the Knicks:

Porzingis offers extreme value on the defense, as he led the league with 2.4 blocks averaged per game before tearing his ACL. Additionally, he was averaging 22.7 points per game. Although he’s scheduled to make a full recovery, injuries of that magnitude can hold you back from being at the top of your game. Hopefully, he can return to full form and assist in the Knicks in returning to winning ways.
