Since Stephen Curry rose to stardom in 2013, the New York Knicks have been under the Golden Warriors’ spell.
Last season, Curry punctuated the Warriors’ win by setting the NBA’s all-time three-point record in the Garden.
The Knicks’ fortunes might change this year amid their hot streak, as Curry’s spell-binding shooting will be missed by the Warriors during their lone trip to the Madison Square Garden this season on Wednesday.
Curry sustained a labrum injury in his left shoulder in Golden State’s loss to Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night that will sideline him until after Christmas, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Knicks still have two more games on the road — Chicago on Friday and Indiana on Sunday — before returning home for a four-game home stand beginning against the reeling Curry-less Warriors.
But despite Curry’s looming absence, a win is not guaranteed as the Knicks are 7-7 at home, including laboring to win against a Lamelo Ball-less Charlotte Hornets in overtime and losing to the Portland Trail Blazers missing Damian Lillard.
