The New York Knicks are in the midst of a turbulent season in which the head coach was fired in December. Few months later after the Fizdale firing, Dolan fires President Steve Mills on Super Bowl Sunday after Mills and Perry weren’t seeing eye to eye during trade discussions. Immediately after the Mills firing, Marcus Morris trade discussions with the Clippers accelerated. Dolan decides to continue letting Scott Perry run the ship as General Manager even though Leon Rose is now hired as the Head of Basketball Operations. The cycle of politics in the Knicks front office continues.

The former attorney Leon Rose has been out the spotlight since the hire rightfully so as the Knicks look forward to the second half of this embarrassing excuse of a season. Knicks will be selecting from the lottery in the 2020 NBA Draft if things don’t drastically change. There are rumors of Scott Perry eventually being let go as soon as Leon Rose’s new regime is in place. Things could get political real quick. The direction of the Knicks is dark and there are plenty of legit question marks.

Mike Miller and the staff alongside him deserve credit for staying professional amidst the rumors of his potential replacement circulating. Even Villanova’s head coach Jay Wright’s name popped up. Miller won coach of the year with the Westchester Knicks during the 2017-2018 season. Players respect Mike Miller and he’s a great developmental coach. Miller deserves a chance at a full season, however, that will be Leon Rose’s decision.

Overall, anybody who wasn’t Leon Rose’s hire should go. Knicks must be about basketball and fewer politics. That’s only a Knicks fan dream at this point. Stay tuned as we witness what the 2020 season and off-season have up its sleeve for the Knicks.
