The New York Jets have been hit with another major injury blow. After missing two consecutive practices Le’Veon Bell is questionable for Sunday’s game.

The New York Jets could be without one of their offensive weapons on Sunday. According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, running back Le’Veon Bell has missed back-to-back practices due to illness.

Losing Bell would be a huge blow to the Jets’ offense. While the Jets rush offense has been awful, Bell has still been a huge part of the team’s recent success.

In the Jets wins against the Raiders and Redskins Bell had 200 all-purpose yards. That may not seem like a lot, but it makes a huge difference. That’s especially true in the passing game, where Bell has been excellent this season.

Bell is seventh among RBs in receiving yards this season. That isn’t peak Le’Veon Bell, but it makes a huge difference to the Jets offense. Bell is on pace for 537 receiving yards this year, which has him on pace to be the Jets’ third-leading receiver. Even in a down year for Bell, there’s a real chance he finishes top-10 in the NFL in all-purpose yards.

The Jets’ offense can’t afford to lose that kind of production. Especially coming off their disastrous performance against the Bengals.

This Sunday’s game against the Dolphins is a must-win for the Jets. Not for the playoffs or to save Adam Gase‘s job or any reason like that. It’s a must-win for pride’s sake. The Jets can’t afford to lose two games to the Dolphins this season. That would be the biggest punch to the gut the team has felt this century.

This is already the worst season the Jets’ have had since Rich Kotite was in charge. They can’t allow themselves to fall any further. Losing Le’Veon Bell would nearly doom the offense to failure. Losing one of their top weapons is not something one of the worst offenses in football can afford.
