The New York Yankees will unveil their shiny new toy on Wednesday, and with his services being activated in the Bronx, owner Hal Steinbrenner and GM Brian Cashman are hopeful he will produce a World Series for the organization in the coming years.

Signing a nine-year, $324 million deal to solidify himself in the record-books is Cole, who’s excited to be a part of his boyhood club, despite the Yankee rule that he must be clean-shaven. This offseason was full of rumors and excitement regarding Cole, as speculations began to creep up that he might prefer the West Coast. However, he quickly denounced those rumors and ensured the population waiting on his decision that he had no preference, but rather enjoyed the extra zeroes at the end of his first pay-check.

Now, we get to see the league’s best pitcher showcase his abilities in New York, a city that will either love him to the very end or tear him apart if he fails to reach his potential. Considering his consistent success and eagerness to develop his skill-set further, it’s hard to imagine he will not flourish in the city that never sleeps.
