There has been a lot of talk surrounding the New York Giants defense. Sure, there can always be room for improvement, but yesterday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers proved that there are signs of hope and potential for this defense. One positive aspect of the Giants defense showed itself in the form of outside linebacker Markus Golden.
Golden has shown that he is a competitor in the past, but in yesterdays game he truly proved it. Golden had two sacks and five tackles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This motivated the team and really gave them the confidence that they could pull off a win.
Golden played four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and proved to be an asset on their defense. He brought his ferocity and drive with him to the New York Giants as he showed yesterday. Golden gave the defense some morale.
With his vigor and his heart and fighting spirit, Golden is sure to only get better and better each and every game.
Golden has proved to be a star on the field, but what sets him apart from the rest is his giving demeanor and persona. Each year since the start of his professional football career, Golden holds a free youth football camp in his hometown of St. Louis Missouri. Here, he sets kids up with the values and skills they need for both on and off the field.
Golden is thankful, gracious and appreciative of every opportunity life throws at him and it shows. He is a hidden star and has provided the defense with a glimmer of hope. All that glitters is (Markus) Gold(en)!
