New York Giants land three compensatory picks, here’s where they landed

The New York Giants were granted three compensatory picks on Tuesday afternoon for the 2020 NFL Draft, based on the NFL Management formula that considers formerly signed free agents, drafted players lost, and more factors.

The picks that the Giants will now have available to them are the No. 99 overall selection, and two seventh-round picks (No. 247 and 255). The formula would have awarded the Giants a fourth roun pick but only 32 picks are given out to teams and the Giants would have pushed the pick limit to 33.

Losing Landon Collins last year in free agency ultimately offered Big Blue a third-round selection, which is needed considering GM Dave Gettleman forfeited the No. 68 overall pick for Leonard Williams last season in a trade with the Jets.

The Giants will now walk into the 2020 NFL Draft with ten picks, which I imagine some will be packaged and traded to move up and grab players of desire. With the 4th overall pick in the draft, Gettleman will be looking to add a premier talent to help the offensive line or defensive side of the ball.
