Yesterday we learned that Paige VanZant had been removed from BKFC London which is set to take place this upcoming weekend. However, reasons were not immediately clear on the reasoning behind the decision.
BKFC is making their London debut and they wanted to bring a big card for the English fans. In the main event, Michael “Venom” Page will be taking on “Platinum” Mike Perry. This is a very solid main event and MVP is making his BKFC debut while still under contract with Bellator.
VanZant was set to compete in the co-main event against Charisa Sigala. However, the fight has been called off. While some speculated that VanZant had to pull out of the fight, she got on Twitter to say that the decision was out of her hands and she was incredibly frustrated by BKFC’s decision.
I did not pull from my fight!!!! I was pulled! I am pissed off and heartbroken! I worked my f**king ass off to be pulled a week before I am supposed to compete!!!!

BKFC’s Decision
While nothing has been confirmed, the rumor is that low ticket sales caused BKFC to pull PVZ from the card with the hope that she can fight in October in front of a bigger audience. Again, that has not been confirmed at this time.
However, John Morgan was able to report that the promotion made the decision due to some logistical concerns in London. There was no further details given from either side on the decision to pull VanZant.
VanZant signed with BKFC back in 2020 after they threw a ton of guaranteed money in her direction. However, the money hasn’t translated to performances. VanZant signed a three-fight deal and has lost her first two bouts with the promotion.
This was shaping up to be PVZ’s last appearance in Bare Knuckle. She’s dabbled in pro-wrestling and she’s also talked about a future return to MMA. Nevertheless, she’s wanting to complete her contract and now she will have to wait a little longer to do so.
