BKFC President David Feldman said it would be a big year for the promotion and he’s doing all he can to make it happen. This week, there was a couple of additional nuggets of news that’s a big deal for Bare Knuckle.
The first big piece of news came out earlier today. Former two-time UFC title challenger and Ultimate Fighter winner John Dodson (22-13 MMA) has signed with BKFC. Dodson is expected to make his debut with the promotion on August 27th.
At this time, there is no word on who “The Magician” will fight when he makes his Bare Knuckle debut. Back in April, Dodson returned for MMA competition for just his second fight since he was released from the UFC.
Dodson was able to get back on track with a win over Francisco Rivera Jr. Now, Dodson is cashing in with a nice new deal in BKFC. The 37 year old still has plenty of fight left in him and it’ll be interesting to see what he can do in the Bare Knuckle world.
BKFC books big rematch
If you’re a fan of women’s Bare Knuckle Boxing, you should be excited about this rematch. The promotion has announced that on June 24th, former BKFC champion Bec Rawlings (3-0) will be returning to take on Britain Hart (4-3).
Rawlings returns for the first time since BKFC’s fourth event that took place back in 2019. She last competed in combat sports under the Bellator banner back in 2020 where she picked up a win over Elina Kallionidou.
Britain Hart made her BKFC debut against Rawlings at the second ever event. She lost that fight by split decision. She then lost her second fight in BKFC against Christine Ferea. However, after that, she went on a big run.
Hart won four straight including spoiling the BKFC debut of Paige VanZant. After defeating Pearl Gonzalez by decision, she got a rematch with Ferea for the vacant BKFC flyweight title. Unfortunately for Hart, she lost by decision and her winning streak was snapped.
Now, she’s getting another rematch against Rawlings who will look to stay perfect in Bare Knuckle.
