Bellator 290 on CBS headlined by Bader – Fedor 2

Fedor Emelianenko

The legendary career of Fedor Emelianenko (40-6) will come to an end in a fight for the Bellator heavyweight title. It was reported by CBS Sports this morning that Fedor will get his rematch against Ryan Bader (30-7) for the heavyweight title at Bellator 290.

Bellator 290 goes down on February 4th in California. Fedor has been campaigning for a shot at the heavyweight title for his final bout and that is what he’s getting. He’s getting his rematch with Ryan Bader just like he wanted.

The last time we saw Ryan Bader was back in May when he took on Cheick Kongo. Bader used his wrestling to dominate the bout and win by decision. It was his second successful title defense. Bader and Fedor originally fought back in 2019 with the title on the line.

It was a quick knockout victory for Bader. He’s hoping to duplicate that result when they fight again in February.

Bellator 290

Bellator 290 is going to be a special night for Fedor regardless of the result. His legendary career will come to an end and he’s competing for a world title. He couldn’t ask for a better opportunity.

Entering the bout, Fedor is 4-1 in his last five fights with the lone loss coming against Bader. We last saw Fedor over a year ago when he took on Timothy Johnson. Fedor really turned back the clock in that one when he knocked out Johnson in the first round.

With Fedor, he always has that nuclear option. The power is still there and he’s one clean shot away from walking away as the Bellator heavyweight champion.
