Tomorrow night, Bellator returns and there’s a jam packed card for fight fans. In the main event of the evening, the middleweight championship is on the line as the champion Gegard Mousasi (49-7-2) takes on undefeated challenger Johnny Eblen (11-0).
For Mousasi, he’s going to be looking to defend his title for the third time. After becoming Bellator champion initially, Mousasi lost his title to Rafael Lovato Jr, but after Lovato Jr was forced to retire, Mousasi once again became champion.
He did that by defeating Douglas Lima. In his first two title defenses, he ran through challengers John Salter and previously unbeaten Austin Vanderford. The Vandorford fight was incredibly impressive back at Bellator 275.
At Bellator 276, Eblen put on an impressive performance when he defeated John Salter by decision. Overall, he’s a perfect 7-0 since joining Bellator. He’s going to be looking to use his wrestling to challenge the great Gegard Mousasi tomorrow night.
Rest of Bellator 282
In addition to the Bellator middleweight title fight that goes down tomorrow night, there is a couple of matchups in the Bellator Bantamweight Grand Prix. In the co-main event, the entertaining Danny Sabatello (12-1) takes on Leandro Higo (21-5).
This is a fight that has some major heat and it should be an entertaining scrap. Sabatello has made a name for himself with his ability to talk, but make no mistake about it, Sabatello is a great fighter and he has another chance to prove that tomorrow night.
Leandro Higo has won three straight including wins over Darrion Caldwell and Ricky Bandejas leading up to Bellator 282. Before this matchup is another Grand Prix matchup featuring Magomed Magomedov (18-2) and Enrique Barzola (18-5-2).
In the prelims, there’s another fight that you should pay attention to. That’s the women’s featherweight fight between Cat Zingano (12-4) and Pam Sorenson (9-4). Zingano will look to stay unbeaten in Bellator and she’s hoping to earn a shot at Cris Cyborg with a win over Sorenson tomorrow night.
